What We Do >> Professional Development Workshops

The following workshops are perfect for students who are seriously interested in pursuing their craft in theatre. Students will learn directly from West End performers about auditioning for shows and business behind show business.

Acting Audition
The acting audition workshop gives students the knowledge of how important first impressions are when entering the audition room. This workshop will focus on the monologue, cold readings and stage presence and will include both group work and individual work on making the right choices in an audition situation.

Dance Audition
The dance audition gives students an understanding of what a dance call is like to attend, covering different dance styles and working at the pace of a professional audition. This workshop will give students an insight into the fast paced world of dance as a career.

Musical Theatre Audition
In this workshop we will take you through the West End audition process and enable you to experience what a real audition is like. Stage Door Chat
theatre-inc can arrange a stage door meeting with a performer from the show you are seeing; your students will get the chance to get their programme signed and pose for photos. This can last for up to 30 minutes and can also include a Q & A session if possible.

Stage Make Up
Through demonstration applied to volunteers , the group will learn the basics of makeup application and special make up effects, this will focus on shows such as Cats , Starlight Express or Phantom of the Opera where make up plays a huge part of the characterisation and the importance of make up in theatre.

Stage Management
In this workshop theatre-inc will arrange for a member of stage management on a West End show to explain the vital roles that the stage management team play within a show and give some practical advice on how to work within this aspect of the industry.

There’s no business like show business
This workshop is very popular for those intending to work in the performing arts and is taken by a tutor who will give the students the business skills for a successful career in theatre, the group will learn about audition procedures, agents, head shots, CV’s, self employment and will talk through the personal goals of each student.

Front row Seats
In this workshop, students will have the opportunity to sit down and talk to a West End performer, who they can see onstage in a show; this will include details of the performers training, career highlights and lows and will give a true insight into life as a performer. The students can ask as many questions as they wish during this workshop and it will conclude with a performance from the tutor just for the group.
